What is Giclée Printing?
The word 'giclée' is French for 'sprayed' ink, it's a sophisticated inkjet printmaking process that creates the highest quality fine art prints, offering an extra fine image resolution, helping retain a high degree of detail.
'Giclée' is the highest standard of printing available. With the right paper stock and ink set, our giclee prints are archival, which means that they will last for 150 to 200 years. It's a superior quality print!
'Giclée' prints are more expensive because of the high quality materials used and the printing process used.

Top Tips To Care For Your Giclée Print...
We suggest the following
Top tip 1 - Handle with cotton gloves, or clean dry hands.
Dirt and oils can damage the paper.
Nails or rings could also cause scratches, so take care.
Top tip 2 - If your print comes rolled from us, remove from the tube and unroll it faced down onto the tissue paper ensuring the sticker is discarded.
Place waited objects on the back until the print is flattened and doesn't curl back up.
Clean books work well. This should take 24/48 hours.
Top Tip 3 - Although the giclée print is of the highest quality, we still advise not to hang the print in direct sunlight.

Mounting
We suggest the following
'Giclée' fine art printing doesn't end at the printers.
As with all 'giclée' prints they should never experience irreversible processes, as it can really negatively impact the quality.
'Giclée' prints should never be adhered to a board, with adhesive like glue, tape or spray, as these adhesive materials have acidic chemicals which shorten the life of an archival print.
So we suggest not mounting your prints.
This is totally your decision thou.
If you do decide to mount the prints it's not the worse fate a print can experience but it could shorten its longevity.
Please be mindful of this!
Please note we have intentionally designed the majority of our larger art prints to have borders which form as a mount.

Framing
Advice
We advice you should always frame a 'giclée' print, frames are a 'giclée' prints best friend,
They protect your fine art print and as the paper is delicate you don't want anything to touch it's surface, so by framing it the print is protected.
We provide a framing option in our shop.
Choose from Oak, White or Black, they are simple and refined and don't distract from our artwork, they complement the prints.
If you choose to frame your prints yourself, we recommend using a framer, we have designed our prints to have a border so no mount is required.
