Window Illustration & Storytelling

Bringing a space to life through illustration, story and hand-drawn detail.

We create bespoke illustrated window artwork for restaurants, independent businesses and hospitality spaces — shaped around your place, your story and the people you want to welcome through the door.

From a first idea to the finished window, every project begins with listening.

When a Window Becomes
Part of the Story

A window can do more than catch someone’s eye.

It can give a place a feeling before someone has even stepped through the door.

We create illustrated windows that reflect the character of a restaurant, venue or independent business — from seasonal stories and festive scenes to artwork created around the personality and story of a particular place.

Sometimes the brief is carefully defined.

Sometimes it begins with a conversation and a feeling.

Either way, we take the time to understand the space before putting pen to glass.

The result is artwork that feels made for that place, rather than simply placed there.

Alter Tree

An illustration rooted in place.

For local restaurant Alter Tree, we created a bespoke illustrated window inspired by the character of the restaurant itself.

The starting point was a tree — branches, leaves and the feeling of nature becoming part of the space.

Rather than simply creating something decorative, we wanted the illustration to feel as though it belonged there; something that became part of the identity and atmosphere of the restaurant.

For Christmas, we were invited back to develop the window again, introducing woodland animals and seasonal details to transform the original story for the festive period.

A lovely example of how an illustration can evolve with a place, a season and the people who return to it.

For ASK Italian’s flagship York restaurant, we were commissioned to create bespoke festive window artwork using POSCA pens.

Working from the creative brief, we designed the illustrations to work with the individual windows and mirrors within the restaurant, preparing the artwork in advance before bringing the designs to life on site.

The finished illustrations became part of the restaurant’s Christmas atmosphere — welcoming guests before they had even stepped through the door.

From Brief to Glass

We Listen

We Create

We Prepare

Bring to Life

We begin by understanding the space, the brief and the feeling you want people to experience.

We develop the illustration around the dimensions, character and story of the venue.

Every window is different, so artwork is prepared to suit the individual space before we arrive.

Then comes the lovely part — taking the artwork onto the glass and watching the story appear.

Made For Places With A Story To Tell

We love working with businesses where the space itself is part of the experience.

This might be:

  • Restaurants and cafés

  • Boutique hotels and hospitality spaces

  • Independent shops

  • Seasonal or festive campaigns

  • Special events and launches

  • Businesses looking for a more personal way to tell their story

Whether you have a fully formed creative brief or simply an idea you’d like to explore, we’d love to hear about it.

Let’s Create Something Together

Have a space with a story to tell?

Tell us a little about your venue, your idea and what you’d like the artwork to achieve.

We’d love to explore what we could create together.

Made by hand. Made for the place.
